Almost every product has an outer case, enclosure, skin or package and you would think would keep things in or out, right?  Sadly not.  For example, underground electronics in a leakproof silicone case will fail within days because water, as a vapour, can pass (or permeate) through it almost as if it wasn’t there.  Then the vapour condenses inside as liquid water and causes problems.

The same is true for virtually every product in any enclosure, as all gases can permeate through all materials, just at different rates.  The very act of manufacture, moulding, bending or joining can easily make things even worse by a factor of 4! .  The answer lies in testing enclosures and the materials – and that’s where Versaperm comes in.
